The fort was built by the knights in just 4 months and
named after St Elmo, the patron saint of mariners
We saw the original of this Roman mosaic in Rabat

The WWII section of the museum was of special interest to me

My Dad's ship (USS Philadelphia)
was instrumental in Operation Husky
including fire support for Patton's "Leapfrog"
operation approaching Palermo
While the ship was being repaired in Malta,
the crew read the "Times of Malta to keep up with
the war's progress (May-July 1944) & saved a few
