From its founding in 649 the Abbey was destroyed and rebuilt many times (Viking raids, fires, French Revolution, WWII bombing)
The current church was built in 1967- 1969 using stones from earlier structures
We attended Mass here but photos were not allowed once the monks arrived
The Cloister is under renovation for the next 5 years
