160 Graduate at Constitution Hall

As soon as Principal Bob Snee officially declared them “graduated,” the 160 members of the Class of 2007 threw their caps in the air to begin a celebration that would lead to their attendance at the All-Night Grad Party. The graduates heard advice from Valedictory speakers Will Stewart and Margaret Lipman. The commencement address was delivered by English teacher Michael Hoover, who graduated with the seniors following 37 years at Mason. Hoover challenged the graduates to become “intrinsic teachers” in everything they do. Two new scholarships were announced at the ceremony, the Hoover Prize for Outstanding Writing and The Unsung Hero Scholarship established by the Senior Class Gift and inspired by Lasso Advisor Michael Hoover.
